Years spearfishing

First memory of spearfishing
My first memory of spearfishing is diving Allen Davis with Sean & Derek Tomas. I didn’t have any gear but they let me borrow a mask and three prong. With no wetsuit and blunt cut bodyboarding fins I had a blast. I was instantly hooked and from then on every weekend was dive day!
Favorite fish to hunt
My favorite fish to hunt is Mu and Uku. Was blessed to learn from the Mu master Barron Kepoo
Favorite fish dish to prepare
My favorite dish is Honey walnut Mu, I also love steam Kumu, and Uku sashimi.
Favorite hunting style
I love hunting reef but feel its important to be successful on the reef and in the blue. I enjoy both styles of hunting.
Favorite dive trip or memory
Honestly I haven’t got to dive many places away from the islands, but I would probably have to go with MOLOKAI. The first time I had a chance of diving the west side, was probably one of the best dive trips I had with couple of my dive buddies. we explored some beautiful structure and seen so many different (Bigger fish) then we would on the Big island. Uhu’s well over 10 pounds, biggest Pananu I’ve seen hands down till this day, and uku’s everywhere! before getting out of the water I ran into a big school of MU and it was game on.
Dream dive trip
My dream dive trip would be Niihau or somewhere that has Dogtooth Tunas.
Ideal setup
My ideal set up is my KAP 120cm Euro with 9/32 shaft and Aussie Reel. I like it because it’s perfect for the reef and also does well in bluewater too.
One thing no one knows about me
The one thing people don’t know are the zones we hit for our fish.
